Pupil Premium

Pupil premium provides funding to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to reach their potential, closing gaps in attainment relative to non-PP pupils and facilitating full access to the curriculum.

The Looked After Child Premium is managed by the designated virtual school head in the local authority that looks after the child, and used without delay for the benefit of the looked-after child’s educational needs as described in their personal education plan.

The spending of such premiums and the amounts awarded are set in the students’ personal education plans that are held three times annually, and progress associated with such spending assessed at these points also.

Pupil Premium is used to support and encourage progress in education, within highlighted specialist areas of need for individual LAC/CIC pupils. These include areas of cognition and learning, physical and sensory, social-emotional and mental health and communication and interaction.

Pupil premium money is used for; individual phonics sessions, phonics and numeracy resources, individual counselling sessions, education software including education city and clicker 7, piano lessons, letterbox scheme, outdoor learning experiences, personalised laptops, books, gym membership, visual perception activities, model kits, play therapy and formalised assessments.
